Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Women’s Hospital at Renaissance

At The Women’s Hospital at Renaissance, we understand that parents feel anxious and scared when their baby is admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).  Rest assured, our subspecialized team of physicians, nurses and other caregivers will do their best to provide cutting edge evidence based medical care and emotional support for you while caring for your baby.

We pride ourselves on providing world class health care. We have participated in the Vermont Oxford Neonatal Outcomes Network since the opening of the NICU in October of 2007, and have consistently had every major outcome measure ranked in the best quartile of the network. Our high risk infant follow up program assures our tiniest and high risk patients and families a safe transition home and later ensures that their neurodevelopment is tracked for the first four years of life. Our subspecialized neonatal nursing teams guarantee that our most medically fragile patients receive the family centered care they require to succeed. Our maternal-fetal medicine team, along with our subspecialed surgical and medical care teams, ensure that babies with congenital and complex surgical and medical conditions can be cared for at home in the Rio Grande Valley. We are a breast milk exclusive NICU for babies weighing less than or equal to 3 and a half pounds (1.5 kilograms). Most importantly , the NICU atThe Women’s Hospital at Renaissance is driven to provide individualized care for each baby within our family centered care environment.
